InsPAWed: Episode Nine – Susan Godwin |
In this episode of insPAWed, we sit down with Susan Godwin, founder of PupScouts Org, to share how her dog Tasha inspired a nationwide community built around connection, joy, and giving back.
When Susan first moved to New York City, Tasha became more than a companion. She was a source of comfort, safety, and unconditional love. The two were inseparable, exploring the city and traveling together. What started as a simple moment seeing a dog dressed in a Brownie style uniform sparked an idea that would grow far beyond what Susan imagined.
That idea became PupScouts Org, now a 501c3 nonprofit with troops across the country. Through events, badges, and community involvement, PupScouts brings people and their dogs together while raising money and awareness for animals in need.
Tasha was the original National Troop Leader, and her legacy continues today through Timothy and Tabitha. While Susan still feels the loss of Tasha deeply, she continues the mission they started together, honoring her every step of the way.
In this conversation with host Cyndie Morgan and co-host Nigel, we discuss how Tasha shaped Susan’s life, how PupScouts grew into a nationwide movement, and the lasting impact one dog can have on a community.
